Free music, and blah….

Hi Everyone

I have nothing very exciting to tell you music wise, but a few things to mumble on about that you may find interesting. Firstly, though, at the bottom of this post you will find some links to tunes. Its a random selection of stuff. I can never remember what I have given away and what I have kept…but I think a few are unreleased, and there’s a little description with each. These are given to you like a gift, to show my appreciation for the patience you have shown in waiting for the new website. Its been a while coming, but I have been assured we should have the basic thing up and running by the end of September.
Because there is a large amount of content to upload, we have decided to put up what will at first be a basic looking website. We have redesigned it – so it will look nothing like what is currently available at www.kniteforcerevolution.com. Bexxie will be adding to the look of it as time goes by. As she is doing that, I will be uploading content. Which I can finally do, because I finally have the content organised. Yes, its taken since October last year, but I have finally gathered every track ever released on any of my labels into one place. I now have a hard drive in which each label has its own folder, containing every catalogue number, the tracks, samples, artwork, sound clips, MP3s, various versions etc etc of everything that I have.
Which brings me full circle back to the free tracks. I discovered tracks which I had re-edited – like a version of I Run These Streets which has the intro etc from the original, but is mixed up with the Supaset version, allowing it to be a whole track. And, I found one of the rejects from SS4, Pulps “This Is Hardcore”. I may have had that track for sale before on the old site, but I cant remember. Also there is “Grab A Hold” and “Smells Like A Lawsuit”, both of which I am fairly sure have never been given away. Anyway, I just got some tracks together, uploaded them, and here they are for you to download and do what you will…so enjoy :o )

Another reason for the crazy giveaway is that, at long last, I have been approved for my application for my USA visa. That means a whole load of complicated poop, but the bottom line is I have a medical and an interview, and if those go smoothly, I should finally be able to live in the USA at the end of October. As I have been waiting for this to happen since January, I am very happy that I have finally reached the last stage in a very tedious drawn out process. So I have been busy with that – getting documents and vaccinations, that sort of thing. As I write, I have one very sore arm from an injection earlier today, lol. So I am happy, and thought I would share my happiness with y’all!

What else can I tell you about? I guess I should reply to some comments left for me…firstly, the cat thing. I appreciated the long reply about how to be friends with a cat, but fear the poster missed the point – I don’t want to be friends with the cats, lol. I know about the looking in the eye thing, and am happy to stare down any moggy (I am brave like that ha ha!) Actually, I ended up being friends with my Mums cat, simply because I correctly guessed that the reason for its vomiting was stress, and that if I didn’t pet it and play nice, I would have to clear up more vomit. Practicality won the day – I would rather waste time stroking a cat than cleaning up vomit :o )
As for clips posted…yes, I had a dance to UFOs set at Here We Go Again in Canada. It is usual for me to dance around like a fool when I go to a party. I do this, despite knowing my dancing is embarrasing. Why? A few reasons. First is, I like to feel the vibe of the crowd – and the best way to do that is to be part of the crowd. Tied to this is the fact that I still feel I am a raver who also Djs. Okay, I am not wearing neon pants, and I don’t do drugs, but then thats the same as when I first started raving. I dont really understand the distance many Djs cultivate. I have never been into that whole Dj Superstar thing – in fact, I think its shitty, because in my opinion it goes against what raving is about. Raving should be about everyone having a good time, not everyone worshiping the person playing the music or the guy blabbing away on the mic. I am aware that raving has changed, and it makes me sad to see it. But I wont be part of that. Its for this reason that I don’t like the bowing think people do, and always feel uncomfortable signing records etc. I always try to ask people not to do the bowing thing (in as friendly a way as possible. I appreciate and am flattered by the sentiment, but still…). And I sign records because if thats what people want, I am happy to oblige. Still, I dislike any divisions between Dj and crowd, and feel such things are a way of saying “I am more important than you” and I just don’t feel that way. The arrogance of some of my contemporaries is repulsive to me.
So yes, I will have a dance. Plus, I like UFO and enjoyed his set. Well cheesy, but I have never been against cheese, or any style in our music scene. I am just against relentlessly boring, samey music for 8 hours straight. Oh, I am not that keen on sell out rubbish either lol. Funny how those 2 things go together so often, eh?

Then there’s the clip of The Smart Es at the Radio 1 Roadshow. Honestly, how humiliating to have film footage of that online. I guess it could be worse as you can hardly see me, ha ha! I remember that day, and being quite terrified to get up on top of the roof of that trailer thing. It wasn’t very safe – I was warned not to jump up and down too much. It was also quite high, had low barriers made of flimsy metal, and felt a lot smaller than it was in the way that diving boards feel higher than they are once you are on them. Was it a buzz having a crowd that big? Yes. It would have been better if the crowd knew what the hell was going on, of course. People forget that at that time, many had not even heard of “dance” music. Or they had, and it was “The Locomotion” by Kylie, lol. On reflection, my life has been very very strange!

Speaking of Strange, I have continued to follow The Obama. Its been great. I cant believe he has got as far as this, and am hoping he will win the election. I shall be campaigning for him, if I get to be in the USA before the election. I will try to report all the goings on, if I do this.

Another thing, while going through the stuff for my “Everything Kniteforce Ever” hard drive, I came across film footage of me and Panacea playing in Germany. I will try to get this uploaded on You tube or something. Its kinda cool.

Okay, thats all I can be bothered to write for now…heres the links to the freebies! Enjoy, over and out!

when i posted the video i found on youtube i didn’t mean make it sound like you don’t mingle or enjoy the music :S , i guess some people were just surprised to see you amongst the rest of the ravers.

thanks for the awesome track selection :) !

  3. Its all good Kaytaro, I know what you meant! This isnt the first time someone has been surprised to see me dancing, just the first time its been videoed and posted lol…so I wanted to put forward my thoughts on that stuff! It was a good night, I should add!

  4. Thank you for the free songs! Especially the Smells Like a Lawsuit one – I occasionally do my own type of ‘Supaset’, with my home made radio-ey bits and intros so this would come in handy!
Can’t wait to hear more from you, gutted the whole thing is taking so long =o(
All the best though mate =oD

  5. congrats on moving things along. Give me a call or shoot me an email next time you’re in the states and I’ll buy you a drink on the whole american citizenship thing! I just watched the DNC last night and was impressed by the speeches given, can’t see how Obama can lose now…

^Almost brings a tear to my eye! Problem is, the guys like you won’t put up a fight against the egomonsters and so there’s nothing to stop them rinsing the limelight and dominating the market. Sadly, it’s the music that suffers.

  8. …..and on the topic of youtube videos:

    ^FUTURE PRIMITIVE aiiiiiight!

  9. Ooooh, rare, unreleased tracks?
    Jackpot! …that’s my favorite. ;)

I really like Acid and am especially enjoying This Is Hardcore. How crazy is that one, and to think it might have never been heard??? AH! Aha. =)

Thanks for these! And congratulations on your mega hard drive conquest and the immigration progress.

  10. First off – Thanks for the tracks! Looks like I got my Serato working just in time. Speaking of which…is there a way I can purchase your “Hardcore-To-Gabber (Better, Stronger, Faster) DJ Toolz” track and your Slow-the-fuck down mix of “I Run These Streets??” If they can’t be sent perhaps burnt to a disc and given to me at Beyond The Beat (signed hahaha j/k)

P.S. you HAVE given out “Smells Like A Lawsuit” as a bonus on one of the Past, Present, Future, CD’s.

  11. congrats on being approved for the visa! =) for some reason all I can think of is the episode of the simpsons where apu was applying for citizenship =P

completely concur with you on the dj being part of the crowd. although I do feel they should get some props…I mean after all they did entertain you for an hour or so but they shouldn’t be some almighty person who is better than you.

I have run into several people in my life who have a tendency to idolize people just because they can spin records =/

love acid! reminds me of stuff ufo & supreme used put out

  12. Thanks Mr C!

  13. Is I Run These Streets 2 the same as the bonus track on one of the earlier PPF CDs?

  14. Thanks for the tunes and congrats on being well on your way to becoming a Yank! :)

  15. Is that Lasse Gjertsen’s Hyperactive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9698TqtY4A) I hear sampled as the kick in Grab A Hold & Ride? ;D

  16. it kinda sounds like lasse….
